Round tables with established authors, reviewers and journal editors
This training consists of round tables with established authors, reviewers and journal editors who share their experience about scientific writing, publishing, and (peer) review practices. Each "Round Table" provides a place for informal discussion and exchange between established and early career researchers (ECRs) focusing on various aspects of scientific writing and publication processes.
They are organized by the Library research support team and the PeerWriting initiative, which has become the PhD & PostDoc Society. In English or in French, depending on the audience.
Format of most of the Round Table (RT):
[1] Training (30mins). RT's start with a 30-minute training, provided by the Library research support team, which gives the essential information on the topic so that the audience is well prepared to enter the discussion.
[2] Expert experience (60mins). Invited established researchers, authors, reviewers, and journal editors share their experience and best practices on specific aspects of the writing and/or publishing process. Although informal, this second part is an opportunity for the established researchers to share essential information about what they think is, or should be, of importance and relevant for early career researchers. Questions and remarks from the audience and moderator are welcomed to facilitate effective experience sharing and knowledge transfer. Prior to the event, participants are invited to already write any question they may have in the registration form.
