Upside: the ambitions!
As you have seen throughout this section, behind each major project was an ambition (or various ambitions), as well as a desire to change the urban fabric, in order to adapt it to the customs and demands of the time. In the following exercise, associate each major project (previously presented) with its "ambition".
Downside: the indirect consequences
As inspiring as these ambitions may seem, one must not forget that most of these large-scale projects were of a "top-down" nature, decided from above and imposed on the inhabitants of the neighbourhoods concerned, who are then the first to suffer from any adverse repercussions. In the following exercise, choose one of the (main) negative consequences for each project.
